Mabel Wayne (* 16. Juli 1890 in Brooklyn; † 19. Juni 1978 in Glen Cove, bürgerlich Mabel Wimpfheimer[1]) war eine US-amerikanische Komponistin, Pianistin und Sängerin.
Leben
Sie studierte in der Schweiz und trat zunächst im Vaudeville auf. Ab 1924 machte sie sich einen Namen als Komponistin mit Songs wie Ramona (1928), In a Little Spanish Town (1930, zum Film Der Jazzkönig), It Happened in Monterey (1930) und I Understand (1940).
Mitarbeiter waren die Texter Louis Wolfe Gilbert, Sam M. Lewis, Joe Young, Billy Rose, Mitchell Parish und Kim Gannon. 1935 nahm sie einige Schallplatten mit eigenen Songs auf.
