Lujulo

Lujulo ist ein Payam (Verwaltungseinheit) im Morobo County, Central Equatoria (2015–2020 Yei River State), Südsudan.

Geographie

Der Landkreis liegt ganz im Hochland im Süden, an der Grenze zur Demokratischen Republik Kongo. Die Hochebene erstreckt sich auf über 1100 m Höhe (1195 m).[1] 2010 wurden 16.800 Einwohner ermittelt.[2]

Geschichte

Noch im Januar und Februar 2019 gab es in der Region Kämpfe zwischen Regierungstruppen und den Rebellen unter General Thomas Cirillo. Zahlreiche Menschen waren auf der Flucht ein Großteil der Siedlungen ist zerstört.[3]

Klima

Lujulo ist geprägt von tropischem Savannenklima (Aw) mit trockenen, warmen Wintern und feuchten, kühleren Sommern. Aufgrund der Höhenlage sind die Durchschnittstemperaturen geringfügig niedriger als in anderen vergleichbaren Regionen.
