Leyr liegt etwa 17 Kilometer nordnordöstlich von Nancy. Umgeben wird Leyr von den Nachbargemeinden Villers-lès-Moivrons im Nordwesten und Norden, Arraye-et-Han im Nordosten, Armaucourt im Osten, Bouxières-aux-Chênes im Süden sowie Montenoy im Westen.
