Lakepa ist eines der vierzehn Dörfer der Insel Niue, die seit 1974 durch einen Assoziierungsvertrag mit Neuseeland verbunden ist. Bei der Volkszählung im September 2022 zählte man in Lakepa 95 Einwohner.[1]

Geschichte

Im Dorf steht ein Denkmal, das an die Männer erinnert, die für die New Zealand Expeditionary Force (NZEF) im Ersten Weltkrieg gekämpft haben.[2]
