Kuwait Basketball Association
Die Kuwait Basketball Association ist der offizielle Basketballverband in Kuwait. Er hat seinen Sitz in der Hauptstadt Kuwait.[1]
Geschichte und Aufgaben
Der Verband ist Mitglied der Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) und damit auch Mitglied der FIBA Asien. Präsident des Verbandes ist zur Zeit Dhari B DHS Mohammad,[1] Generalsekretär ist Thamer Aar Al Shanfa.[1]
Der Verband ist für die Organisation, Leitung und Entwicklung des Basketballsports in Kuwait verantwortlich. Er vertritt den Basketballsport gegenüber Behörden sowie nationalen und internationalen Sportorganisationen.
Zusätzlich verteidigt der Verband auch die moralischen (Fairness im Wettkampf, Respekt und kein Doping) und materiellen Interessen des kuwaitischen Basketballs. Der Verband organisiert die nationale Meisterschaft und ist für die kuwaitischen Basketballnationalmannschaften der Herren und der Damen verantwortlich.
