KIRO – ESPN 760 ist die Clear-Channel-Sportradio-Station von ESPN in Seattle im US-Bundesstaat Washington. Die Station sendet mit 50 kW (Tag und Nacht) vom Lake Union und hat ihre beiden Sendemasten auf Maury Island. Gesendet wird auf Mittelwelle 760 kHz. Die Studios befinden sich in der Eastlake Avenue in Seattles Eastlake.

Übertragen wird ein lokales Sportprogramm und Übernahmen von ESPN Radio. Die Nachrichten werden von CBS News übernommen.

Geschichte

Die Station ging 1927 als KCPB auf Sendung und wurde 1937 zu KIPO.[1]

Am 12. August 2008 begann KIRO auf der Schwesterstation KBSG-FM simultan zu übertragen. So verlagerte sich das KIRO Newsradio von der Mittelwelle auf das UKW-Band. Bald darauf änderte KIRO sein Programmformat in ein Sportradiosender und nannte sich „710 ESPN Seattle“. Seit 2009 hält die Station die Übertragungsrechte für die Seattle Mariners Games. Auf KIRO-FM werden die Spiele der Seattle Seahawks übertragen.
