Jiska Classen (2019)

Jiska Classen (geboren 26. Februar 1990) ist eine deutsche Informatikerin. Sie ist Professorin an der gemeinsam von Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) und Universität Potsdam getragenen Digital Engineering Fakultät. Sie ist Expertin für Cybersicherheit und Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz-Preisträgerin.

Leben

Jiska Classen absolvierte ab 2009 ein duales Studium der Angewandten Informatik an der Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, während sie bei dem Internetdienstanbieter 1&1 in Karlsruhe eine Berufsausbildung machte. 2012 schloss sie ihr Studium mit dem Bachelor of Science ab. Anschließend studierte sie an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt IT-Security und erwarb 2014 den Master of Science. 2020 promovierte sie dort zum Thema „Security and Privacy for IoT Ecosystems“ (Sicherheit und Datenschutz in IoT-Ökosystemen). Sie wechselte ans Secure Mobile Networking Lab der TU Darmstadt. Für Forschungsaufenthalte ging sie zwischenzeitlich nach Italien, Österreich und in die USA.[1]

Seit 2023 leitet Jiska Classen die Forschungsgruppe Mobile and Wireless Security am Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam.[2] Seit August 2025 ist sie Professorin an der gemeinsam von HPI und Universität Potsdam getragenen Digital Engineering Fakultät und leitet dort das Fachgebiet Mobile and Wireless Security.[1][3][4]

2026 erhielt Jiska Classen den Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz-Preis der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).[4][5]

Jiska Classen forscht zu drahtlosen Kommunikationstechnologien und deren Sicherheit. Sie beschäftigt sich mit der Sicherheit und dem Datenschutz mobiler und drahtloser Anwendungen wie iOS, Android oder IoT-Geräten sowie in der Satellitenkommunikation. Sie deckt mit ihrem Team Schwachstellen in verbreiteten Systemen auf und trägt dazu bei, dass diese sicherer gemacht werden.[2][3][4][6]
