IC 1422 ist eine Spiralgalaxie vom Hubble-Typ S mit aktivem Galaxienkern im Sternbild Pegasus am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 439 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 95.000 Lichtjahren. Vom Sonnensystem aus entfernt sich die Galaxie mit einer errechneten Radialgeschwindigkeit von näherungsweise 9.700 Kilometern pro Sekunde.

Das Objekt wurde am 19. August 1893 von Stéphane Javelle entdeckt.[4]
