Himeras

Himeras[1] (griechisch Ἱμέρας) oder Himera[2] war ein antiker griechischer Flussname.

Verwendung

Das Hydronym wurde für zwei verschiedene Flüsse auf der griechisch kolonisierten Insel Sizilien verwendet, die beide in der Nähe des Monte San Salvatore in den Madonie entspringen:

Zeitweise galten beide als ein und derselbe Fluss, der die Insel Sizilien in zwei Hälften teilte.[1] Er soll aus einer Quelle entsprungen sein und sich dann aufgeteilt haben.[3]
