Hephthopelta ist eine Gattung mariner Krabben mit zwei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 203 und 1022 m im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax wird bis zu 10 mm lang und ist kugelig. Der vordere Seitenrand ist entweder mit Zähnen oder Höckern bewehrt oder glatt. Die Augenstiele sind unbeweglich und annähernd zylindrisch. Die Unterseite des Merus der Scherenbeine trägt am Außenrand drei große Zähne. Das zweite Gonopodium ist länger als das erste.[2]
