HMS Rodney

Sechs Kriegsschiffe der Royal Navy wurden auf den Namen HMS Rodney getauft, mindestens fünf davon nach Admiral George Brydges Rodney.

  • Die erste Rodney war ein Kutter von 1759.
  • Die zweite Rodney war eine Brigg mit 16 Kanonen, in Dienst gestellt 1781 und am 23. Januar 1782 bei Demerara von den Franzosen gekapert.
  • Die dritte Rodney war ein Linienschiff dritter Klasse mit 74 Kanonen, vom Stapel gelassen 1809, 1827 zur Razee umgebaut und Greenwich genannt, 1836 verkauft.
  • Die vierte Rodney war ein Linienschiff mit 92 Kanonen der gleichnamigen Klasse, vom Stapel gelassen 1833, 1860 auf Schraubenantrieb umgerüstet, 1884 verschrottet.
  • Die fünfte Rodney war ein Schlachtschiff, vom Stapel gelassen 1884, 1909 verkauft.
  • Rodney war der geplante Name eines Schlachtkreuzers der Admiral-Klasse, 1916 geordert, der Bau wurde 1917 unterbrochen und 1918 komplett eingestellt
  • Die sechste Rodney war ein Schlachtschiff von 1925, diente im Zweiten Weltkrieg und wurde 1948 verschrottet.
