HMS Prince

Prince ist der Name sowie Namensbestandteil verschiedener Schiffe:

  • Die erste Prince war ein 100-Kanonen-Linienschiff 1. Klasse, das 1670 vom Stapel lief und 1692 in Royal William umbenannt wurde. Der Abbruch erfolgte 1813.
  • Die zweite Prince, ein Linienschiff 2. Klasse mit 90 Kanonen, lief 1682 als Ossory vom Stapel und wurde 1705 in Prince umbenannt. 1711 erfolgte die Umbenennung in Princess und 1728 in Princess Royal. 1773 wurde das Schiff abgebrochen.
  • Die dritte Prince war ebenfalls ein Linienschiff mit 90 Kanonen. Der Stapellauf fand 1698 unter dem Namen Triumph statt. 1714 erfolgte die Umbenennung in Prince. Nach einem Umbau 1750 wurde das Schiff 1773 abgebrochen.
  • Die vierte HMS Prince war ein 98-Kanonen-Schiff 2. Klasse, das 1788 vom Stapel lief. Sie wurde 1796 umgebaut und 1837 abgebrochen.
  • Die fünfte HMS Prince war ein Lagerschiff, das 1854 angemietet und im gleichen Jahr im Krimkrieg verloren ging.
  • Die sechste HMS Prince war ein Zerstörer der Admiralty-M-Klasse, Der Stapellauf erfolgte 1916, 1921 wurde das Schiff zum Abbruch verkauft.
