Gordon Baker
Gordon Baker ist ein US-amerikanischer Animator.
Leben
Gordon Baker besuchte in den 1970ern die Everett High School.[1] Er kam Mitte der 1980er zu Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), wo er an einigen sehr bekannten Titeln als Animator arbeitete, darunter Die Reise ins Ich (1987), Willow (1988), Ghostbusters II (1989) und Terminator 2 – Tag der Abrechnung (1991).
Für seine Arbeit an Nightmare Before Christmas wurde er bei der Oscarverleihung 1995 zusammen mit Pete Kozachik, Eric Leighton und Ariel Velasco-Shaw für den Oscar in der Kategorie Beste visuelle Effekte nominiert. Der Oscar ging jedoch an Jurassic Park.[2] Bei dem Film war er für die gezeichneten Animationen, insbesondere das Feuer, verantwortlich.[3] Er arbeitete außerdem an den Videospielen The Dig, Vollgas und Star Wars: Dark Forces (alle 1995) mit.[4]
Er wechselte Ende der 1990er zu Disney und später zu DreamWorks Animation. Nach 2009 verließ er die Filmindustrie und arbeitet seitdem als Fotodesigner.[1][3]
