Goneplax ist eine Gattung der Krabben innerhalb der Familie Euryplacidae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 700 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordatlantiks, im tropischen Atlantik (einschließlich Mittelmeer) und in der gemäßigten Klimazone im Süden Afrikas.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 24 mm lang und 1,5mal so breit. Der vordere Seitenrand ist kürzer als der hintere, beide sind nahezu gerade und kaum abgewinkelt. Der vordere Seitenrand hat in der Mitte einen Zahn. Der äußere Augenhöhlenwinkel ist dornartig. Der Augenstiel ist 50 bis 120 % der Stirnbreite lang. Die Meri der Schreitbeine trägen am unteren Streckrand einen Zahn. Das erste Gonopodium ist dünn und etwa sechsmal länger als breit. Das zweite Gonopodium ist so lang wie das erste, sein Endglied kürzer als das Basalglied.[2]
