Gaetice ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Varunidae mit zwei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln Flussmündungen und Gezeitenzone in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordwestpazifiks und im zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 21 mm lang, etwas breiter und rechteckig. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit zwei Zähnen bewehrt. Die Naht zwischen Ischium und Merus des dritten Maxillipeden verläuft schräg. Der Dactylus ist länglich und erreicht eingefaltet den Rand von Ischium und Merus.[2]

Die Gattung umfasst die folgenden rezenten Arten:[1]

Synonyme sind Goetice Gistel, 1848, Grapsus (Platynotus) De Haan, 1833, Plalynotus De Haan, 1835, Platygrapsus Stimpson, 1858 und Platynotus De Haan, 1833.[1]
