Enoplia ist eine Unterklasse der Fadenwürmer mit etwa 1270 Arten.[1] Sie sind, mit Ausnahme der Trichodoridae, größtenteils freilebend.[2]

Merkmale

Der Mund ist variabel gestaltet und oft mit Zähnen bewaffnet. Die inneren Lippensensillen sind warzenförmig, die äußeren und die Kopfsensillen borstenförmig. Der Ösophagus ist zylindrisch und manchmal im hinteren Abschnitt vergrößert. Die Ösophagusdrüsen münden in den Mund oder in dessen Nähe. Kaudaldrüsen sind gewöhnlich vorhanden.[2]

Die Unterklasse Enoplia wird von Hodda (2022) in zwei Überordnungen und sechs Ordnungen untergliedert:[1]
