Discorsotheres ist eine Gattung der Krabben­familie Pinnotheridae mit vier rezenten Arten.[1] Sie bewohnen die tiefe Gezeitenzone (subtidal) und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 6 und 45 m im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik. Sie sind Kommensalen bei Muscheln.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis 15 mm lang, etwas breiter, hinten am breitesten und bei Weibchen abgerundet-quadratisch. Die Seitenränder sind stumpf. Die Palpe des dritten Maxillipeden ist zweigliedrig. Die Fingerenden der Scherenbeine sind an der Schneidefläche spatelförmig. Das zweite Schreitbein ist symmetrisch und das längste der Schreitbeine.[2]

Systematik

Die Gattung wurde 2018 aus der Gattung Ostracotheres herausgelöst.[3] Zu ihr gehören folgende rezente Arten:[1]
