Direct Draw Surface (DDS) ist ein von Microsoft eingeführtes Dateiformat (Endung .dds) zur Optimierung und Speicherung von Texturen bzw. Cube Maps oder Mipmaps, das erstmals in DirectX 7.0 vorgestellt wurde.[2]
