Derrick Carter (2012)

Derrick Carter (* 21. Oktober 1969 in Compton, Kalifornien) ist ein US-amerikanischer DJ (Chicago House[1]), Musiker und Musikproduzent.

Leben

Carter wurde in Compton geboren und begann bereits im Alter von neun[2] Jahren, Platten aufzulegen, und so kam er zum Genre Chicago House. Nach seinem Studium veröffentlichte er 1987 seine erste Single namens Love Me Right.[1]

Als Remixer hat er für eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Künstler gearbeitet, darunter The Beloved, The Human League, Ricky Martin, Boris Dlugosch, Modjo, DJ Sneak und Röyksopp. Nach einer kurzen Pause kehrte er zur Produktion zurück und remixte Künstler wie Rosie Brown und Truman Industries.

Im Jahr 2006 wurde Carter in einer Umfrage (die sich hauptsächlich auf Google-Treffer stützte) der kostenlosen Wochenzeitung Newcity auf Platz 53 der 100 berühmtesten Chicagoer gewählt.[3]
