Debbie Berman

Debbie Berman (* 1978) ist eine in Südafrika geborene Filmeditorin.

Leben

Berman wuchs in Johannesburg auf. In Südafrika begann sie ihre Laufbahn als Editorin, zunächst für das Fernsehen. Sie immigrierte in den 2000er Jahren zunächst nach Kanada, arbeitete auch dort als Editorin, und ging dann in die Vereinigten Staaten.[1] Mit Spider-Man: Homecoming aus dem Jahr 2017 arbeitete sie an ihrem ersten Film aus dem Marvel Cinematic Universe, dem zwei weitere folgten. Für die Arbeit an Black Panther (2018) wurde sie gemeinsam mit Michael P. Shawver für den Saturn Award für den besten Schnitt nominiert, außerdem erhielten sie eine Nominierung von der Alliance of Women Film Journalists.

Im Jahr 2020 wurde bekannt, dass sie mit einer Filminszenierung der Graphic Novel Unicorn ihre Regiedebüt geben werde.[2]
