Daniel Babut

Daniel Babut (* 12. Februar 1929 in Lille; † 13. Februar 2009 in Lyon) war ein französischer Klassischer Philologe und Philosophiehistoriker.

Leben

Babut war von 1963 bis 1992 Professor an der Université Lumière-Lyon 2 und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am dortigen Institut Ferdinand Courby. Seit 1952 war er Mitglied der Association pour l’encouragement des études grecques en France.

Babut beschäftigte sich mit der griechischen Philosophie, Religion und Wissenschaftsgeschichte. Forschungsschwerpunkte waren der Platoniker Plutarch und dessen ablehnende Rezeption der stoischen Philosophie.
