Common Channel Signalling

Common Channel Signalling (CCS) oder Zentralkanalzeichengabe (ZKZ) bezeichnet Zeichengabeverfahren, die über separate Signalisierungskanäle verfügen.[1] Die für ein Telefongespräch erforderlichen Signalisierungsinformationen werden hierbei getrennt vom Sprachkanal über eigene Kanäle übertragen.

Anwendungen

CCS-Signalisierungsverfahren werden allgemein in Telefonnetzen eingesetzt, z. B.

Da ein separater Übertragungskanal für Signalisierungsinformationen zur Verfügung steht, können damit auch relativ komplexe Leistungsmerkmale und Dienste verwirklicht werden.
