Das Charitum-Gebirge (Charitum Montes) verläuft parallel zum südlichen Rand des Argyre-Einschlagsbeckens durch das Marshochland. Sie haben eine Länge von etwa 934 km. Wie andere Regionen in der Umgebung von Argyre wurden auch die Charitum Montes erstmals von Eugène Michel Antoniadi (1870–1944) in seinem Werk „Der Planet Mars“ („La Planète Mars“) beschrieben.
