Carupella ist eine Gattung der Schwimmkrabben mit drei rezenten Arten.[1]

Merkmale

Das basale Antennenglied ist schlank und ohne vorn-seitlicher Erweiterung, womit die Gattung Carupa und Lupocyclus ähnelt. Die Scherenbeine sind länger als die Schreitbeine. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit Zähnen bewehrt, wobei sich leicht größere und kleinere abwechseln.[2]

Systematik

Die Gattungsbeschreibungen basieren vor allem auf juvenilen Tieren, so dass die Stellung der Gattung unsicher und sie möglicherweise nur ein Synonym ist und weiterführende Untersuchungen notwendig sind.[3][4] Zur Gattung gehören nach dem World Register of Marine Species folgende Arten:[1]
