Bresedium ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Sesarmidae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie sind Süßwasserkrabben, die semiterrestrisch leben und in Südostasien und im Norden Australiens vorkommen.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 17 mm lang, quadratisch und wenig kürzer als die Breite zwischen den äußeren Augenhöhlenwinkeln. Er ist flach und trägt deutliche Epibranchialzähne. Die Stirn weist eine markante mittige Vertiefung auf. Der Oberrand der Hand (Propodus) der Scheren (Chelae) ist bei Männchen ohne Kamm, Ober- und Unterseite sind höckerig oder granuliert und die Innenseite ist höckrig. Das Telson ist tief in den sechsten Somiten des Pleons eingesenkt. Das erste Gonopodium der Männchen trägt einen verlängerten Fortsatz am Ende.[2]
