Atoportunus ist eine Gattung der Schwimmkrabben mit drei rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 2 und 50 m im Indopazifik und leben hier tief im Korallenschutt und in Höhlen verborgen.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 19 mm lang und queroval. Die Stirn ist breit, gewellt und zweilappig mit einer mittigen Kerbe. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit sechs Zähnen bewehrt. Das basale Antennenglied ist länger als breit. Der Merus des dritten Maxillipeden steht leicht hervor und ist gleichmäßig abgerundet. Die Außenfläche des Carpus der Scherenbeine ist unbewehrt, der Merus trägt am Vorderrand Dornen. Die Finger sind schlank, die Kontaktränder sind mit schrägen, nadelartigen Dornen bewehrt.[2]

Systematik

Gary C. B. Poore und Shane T. Ahyong (2023) stellen die Gattung zu den Carupinae,[2] das World Register of Marine Species aktuell (Stand April 2026) zu den Portuninae. Zu ihr gehören folgende Arten:[1]
