Anne Lafortune

Anne Lafortune ist eine Diplomatin der Seychellen. Sie wurde 2023 die Botschafterin ihres Landes für China, Japan und Südkorea.

Leben

Lafortune wurde in Sabah in Malaysia geboren, da ihre Eltern dort als Arbeiter lebten.[1]

Sie wurde Lehrerin und Direktorin der Seychelles-Polytechnic-Schule, bevor sie beim Bildungsministerium als their Generaldirektorin für technische und weiterführende Bildung angestellt wurde.[1] 2007 wurde sie Principal Secretary for Health and Social Development.

Lafortune wurde 2013 Staatssekretärin für Tourismus im Ministerium für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten und Tourismus. 2015 erhielt sie im Namen der Seychellen einen World Travel Award, als diese als führendes Reiseziel im Indischen Ozean ausgezeichnet wurden.[2] Sie organisierte Schulungen für Tourismusmitarbeiter in Irland.[3] Sie selbst erhielt ihre Bildung an der Edith Cowan University in Western Australia und der University of Bristol in England.[1]

Sie wurde 2021 Botschafterin.[1][4] 2023 wurde sie zusammen mit 69 anderen Botschaftern in der Großen Halle des Volkes als Botschafterin in China akkreditiert.[5] Zugleich war sie Botschafterin für Japan[6] und Südkorea.[7][8]

Lafortune ist Mitglied in mehreren Aufsichtsräten auf den Seychellen. Dazu gehören der Vorstand der Zivilluftfahrtbehörde (Civil aviation authority), des Seychelles Investment Board, der Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation und der Seychelles Licensing Authority.[1]

Persönliches

Lafortune hat zwei Kinder und einen Wohnsitz auf Mahé, der Hauptinsel der Seychellen.[1]
