Albert Edison Austin

Albert Edison Austin (* 1. November 1888 in Winnipeg; † 5. Februar 1913 in Kairo) war ein kanadischer Golfspieler.

Leben

Albert Edison Austin, von Beruf Börsenmakler, war der Sohn von Albert William Austin, ein Geschäftsmann, der sich um die Elektrifizierung der Straßenbahn in Winnipeg verdient gemacht hatte.

Als Mitglied des von seinem Vater gegründeten Lambton Golf and Country Club of Toronto nahm er gemeinsam mit diesem am Golfwettbewerb der Olympischen Spiele 1904 in St. Louis teil, das auf dem Gelände des Glen Echo Country Clubs stattfand. Hier schied er bereits in der Qualifikation mit einer Punktzahl von 211 aus und belegte den 65. Platz.

Bei diesen Spielen war Austin mit 15 Jahren und 322 Tagen der jüngste kanadische Teilnehmer, sein Vater mit 47 Jahren und 176 Tagen der älteste.

Albert Edison Austin verstarb im Alter von nur 24 Jahren an Tuberkulose.
