Al Goodhart

Al Goodhart (* 26. Januar 1905 in New York City; † 30. November 1955 ebenda) war ein US-amerikanischer Songwriter.

Leben

Goodhart betätigte sich beim Hörfunk anfangs als Sprecher und Pianist. 1931 schrieb er in Zusammenarbeit mit Al Hoffman das Lied I Apologize, das von zahlreichen Interpreten gesungen wurde und noch Ende der 1940er Jahre ein Hit von Billy Eckstine war.

Von 1934 bis 1937 hielt sich Goodhart mit Hoffman und Maurice Sigler in England auf, wo er für Bühne und Film komponierte. Weitere Mitarbeiter von Goodhart waren Manny Curtis, Sammy Lerner, Ed Nelson, Kay Twomey und Allan Roberts.
