Uzon

Uzon (ruski: Узон) je 9 sa 12 km vulkanska kaldera koja se nalazi u istočnom dijelu poluostrva Kamčatka u Rusiji. Zajedno sa kalderom Gejzernaja nalazi se najveće geotermalno polje na ovom poluostrvu. Kaldere su nastale sredinom geološkog perioda pleistocena u nekoliko velikih erupcija koje su deponovale 20–25 km3 ignimbrita na širokom području. Jezero Dalnji ispunjava holocenski maar na sjeveroistoku kaldere Uzona.

Kaldera Uzon je mjesto pojave i zadržavanja ekstremofilnih mikroorganizama zbog svojih visokih lokalnih temperatura.[1]
