Troja (starogrčki jezik: Ἴλιον, Ilion, ili Ἴλιος, Ilios i Τροία, Troia; latinski jezik: Trōia i Īlium; hetitski: Wilusa ili Truwisa; turski: Truva) je antički grad smješten na sjeverozapadnom dijelu Turske. Poznata je kao poprište, u historiji poznatog Trojanskog rata, opisanog u grčkom epskom Trojanskom ciklusu a posebno u Homerovoj Ilijadi.[2]

Svjetska baština

Troja je 1998. godine uvrštena na listu UNESCO-ove svjetske baštine.[3] Nalazi se na brežuljku Hisarlik, koji gleda na ravnicu duž turske obale Egejskog mora, 4,8 km od južnog ulaza u Dardanele. Čuveni arheolog Heinrich Schliemann poduzeo je prva iskopavanja na tom lokalitetu 1870. godine, koja se smatraju početkom moderne arheologije.
