Tankard je njemački thrash metal bend iz Frankfurta na Majni. Većina njihovih pjesama je o alkoholu, posebno o pivu, te su se zato proglasili izumuteljima novog žanra – "alkoholnog metala".
O grupi
Grupu su 1982. osnovali Andreas Geremia, Axel Katzmann i Frank Thorwarth, te su je nazvali prema riječi koja označava vrč za pivo. Do sada su izdali trinaest studijskih albuma, te su jedni od predstavnika "teutonskog thrash metala". Inače, članovi grupe su i veliki navijači bundesligaškog nogometnog kluba Eintracht, te su autori klupske himne "Schwarz-weiß wie Schnee".
