Rán

U nordijskoj mitologiji, Rán[1] je opasna božica mora, koja ima mrežu u koju hvata one koji putuju morem. Prema Skáldskaparmálu, Rán je supruga vladara mora Ægira,[2] kojem je rodila devet kćeri. Svoju mrežu je jednom posudila bogu Lokiju kako bi on u nju uhvatio patuljka Andvarija.
Vikinzi su more nazivali „Ránin muž” (staronordijski verr Ránar), „Ránina cesta” (Ránar vegr) i „Ránina zemlja” (land Ránar).
