Patogeneza

Patogeneza (grč. πάθος – patos = patnja, bolest + γένεσις – genesis = postanak, kreacija) je proces kojim se razvija bolest ili poremećaj. Može uključivati faktore koji doprinose ne samo nastanku bolesti ili poremećaja, već i njenom napredovanju i održavanju.[1]

Opis

Tipovi patogeneze uključuju mikrobnu ifekcije, upale, malignosti i razgradnju tkiva. Naprimjer, bakterijska patogeneza je proces kojim bakterije izazivaju zaraznu bolest.

Većina bolesti je uzrokovana višestrukim procesima. Naprimjer, određeni kanceri nastaju zbog disfunkcije imunskog sistema (koža tumor i limfom nakon transplantacije bubrega, što zahtijeva imunosupresiju).[2][3]

Patogene mehanizme bolesti (ili stanja) pokreću osnovni uzroci, koji bi, ako se kontrolišu, omogućili da se bolest spriječi.[4] Često se potencijalni uzrok identifikuje epidemiološkim zapažanjima prije nego što se može povući patološka veza između uzroka i bolesti. Patološka perspektiva se može direktno integrirati u epidemiološki pristup u interdisciplinarnom polju molekulske patološke epidemiologije.[5] Molekulskaa patološka epidemiologija može pomoći u procjeni patogeneze i uzročnosti putem povezivanja potencijalnog faktora rizika s molekulskim patološkim potpisima bolesti.[6] Dakle, molekulska patološkoepidemiološka paradigma može unaprijediti područje uzročno zaključivanje.
