Mitril

Mitril je imaginarni metal iz Gospodara prstenova.[1] Mitril je bio dragocjeni metal, nalik na srebro, ali nikad nije propadao i crnio od vremena. Mitril je bio čudesan, i Vilenjaci su od njega pravili mnoge divne stvari. Mithril u stvari znači istinsko srebro. Mitril se mogao naći samo na jednom mjestu, u kraljevstvu Patuljaka Moriji. Patuljci su prodajom mitrila stekli velika bogatstva, jer je vrijednost mitrila bila desetostruka vrijednost zlata. Ali, iako je mitril bio izvor bogatstva Patuljaka, bio je i izvor njihove propasti. Patuljci su, kopajući preduboko za žilama mitrila, probudili drevnog demona, Balroga. Balrog je otjerao Patuljke zauvjek iz Morije i niko više nije kopao mitril.
