M40 je američka repetirajuća snajperska puška koju proizvodi Remington, uvedena je u operativnu upotrebu 1966. godine za potrebe američkih marinaca.

Svaka M40 puška je nastala na osnovu poznate repetirke Remington 700 koja je modificirana, nastala je nakon uviđene potrebe za standardnom snajperskom puškom tokom Vijetnamskog rata.[1]
