Hydrangeaceae je porodica cvjetnica – hortenzija u redu Cornales, razred Magnoliopsida, divizija Tracheophyta.[2] Imenovana je po tipskom rodu Hydrangea.
Ovo je porodica listopadnih grmova i penjačica, sa preko 210 vrsta.[3]
Areal porodice obuhvata Aziju i Sjevernu Amrliku, a djelimično i Evropu. Ima 17 rodova, ali neki botaničari razdvajaju porodicu na dva dijela, sa sedam zasebnih rodova u porodici Philadelphaceae.
