Struktura etil celuloze

Etil celuloza je derivat celuloze, kod kojeg su neke hidroksil grupe u glukoznim jedinicama zamijenjene etil funkcionalnim grupama. Broj zamijenjenih etil-grupa zavisi od načina proizvodnje. Etil celuloza se najviše upotrebljava kao materijal za pravljenje tankih filmova za prekrivanje tableta i drugih proizvoda.[1] Etil celuloza je također prehrambeni aditiv emulgator E462.
