Engelberge

Engelberge (Angilberga; umrla između 896. i 901) bila je karolinška carica[1] kao žena Ludovika II, na koga je imala znatan utjecaj. Vjerovatno je bila kćerka Adelgisa I od Spoleta te članica moćne plemićke porodice.

Rođena oko 830, mladost je vjerovatno provela u Paviji. Postala je Ludovikova konkubina te se udala za njega 860, ali nije imala političke uloge do smrti Ludovikovog oca, cara Lotara I, kada je carstvo razdijeljeno na tri dijela kako bi svaki sin dobio dio. Engelberge je bila italijanska kraljica kao supruga Ludovika II, koji je bio car i kralj Italije. Kćerka Ermengarda bila je dijete kraljevskog para te se kasnije udala za Bosa Provansalskog.
