Embriogeneza

Embriogeneza (lat. embryogenesis) je proces razvoja, tj. inicijacije, gastrulacije, tkivne diferencijacije i organogeneze embrija (embriona, zametka). Počinje spajanjem ženskog i muškog haploidnog gameta (inicijacija) u diploidni zigot. Zigot karakterizira intenzivna sukcesija mitotskih dioba, geometrijskom progresijom.
U fazi gastrulacije nema uočljivog rasta njegove biomase a nakon toga, osobito tokom diferencijacije i organogeneze, ona intenzivno raste[1][2].[3]. Kod sisara, embrionalni stepen prelazi u fetalni (koji se okončava rađanjem nove jedinke). U biljnom i životinjskom svijetu je uočeno mnoštvo različitih nijansi ovog procesa, ali sve one u suštini imaju istovjetan i početak i kraj, tj. početak rasta i razvoja novog organizma[4]
