Beinit je mikrostruktura koja postoji u čeliku nakon određenih termičkih obrada. Prvi su ga opisali Davenport E. S. i Edgar Bain. Formira se kada austenit (rastvor ugljika u gama-željezu) brzo ohladi ispod kritične temperature od 723 °C (oko 1333 °F).

Fina nelamelarna struktura, beinit se najčešće sastoji od ferita i cementita. Po sastavu je sličan perlitu.

Kada se formira tokom kontinuiranog hlađenja, brzina hlađenja za formiranje bainita je veća od one koja je potrebna za formiranje perlita, ali je niža kod potrebne za formiranje martenzita, u čeliku istog sastava.

Beinit je, generalno, jači i više je duktilan od perlita.
