Arch Enemy je švedska melodic death metal grupa iz Halmstada.[1]
O grupi
Grupu su 1996 osnovali braća Christopher i Michael Amott, bubnjar Daniel Erlandsson i pjevač Johan Liiva. Nakon što su sa Liivom snimili tri studijska albuma, Christopher Amott ga je zamolio da napusti grupu jer je htio "dinamičnijeg" pjevača za nastupe uživo. Za novu pjevačicu izabrali su bivšu članicu grupa Asmodina i Mistress, Njemicu Angelu Gossow, koja je postala jedna od rijetkih uspješnih pjevačica koja pjeva "death growlom". S njom su za sada snimili pet studijskih albuma, zasada posljednji The Root of All Evil u septembru 2009 godine.
