  • Osmi krstaški rat Prije augusta – francuski kralj Luj IX pokreće Osmi krstaški rat, u pokušaju da povrati države krstaša od mamelučkog sultana Baibarsa; početni angažman je opsada Tunisa.[1] 25. august – Francuski kralj Luj IX umire dok je opsjedao grad Tunis, vjerovatno zbog loše vode za piće.[2] 30. oktobar – Završetak opsade Tunisa i Osmog krstaškog rata, sporazumom između Charlesa I Sicilije (brata Luja IX) i Muhameda I al-Mustansira, halifa od Tunisa.
