Батанічнае апісанне

Прадстаўнікі трыбы  — геафіты. Сярод прадстаўнікоў сустракаюцца сапрафіты (роды гняздоўнік (Neottia) і Limodorum), пазбаўленыя хларафілу і тыя, што жывуць у сімбіёзе з грыбком.

Лісце сядзячае, ланцэтнай альбо яйцападобнай формы. У бесхларафільных відаў лісце ў выглядзе лускавінак, карычневага альбо жаўтлявага колеру.

Кветкі абодваполыя. Афарбоўка кветак можа быць жоўтай, белай, зялёнай, чырвонай, фіялетавай, карычневай.
