Гэты аб’ект уваходзіць у лік пералічаных у арыгінальнай рэдакцыі «Новага агульнага каталога».

Галактыка мае незвычайную будову перамычкі, якая значна ярчэй рукавоў і складаецца з ланцужка «вузлоў» з блакітным лішкам у спектры[1]. Форма балджа блізкая да сферычнай[2]. Рукавы галактыкі пашчапаны ўздоўж[3]. Карлікавая спіральная галактыка-кампаньён NGC 337A [3] на вуглавой адлегласці 26,6 мінуты да поўдня.
