У галактыкі выяўлены спадарожнік NGC 259b з эмісійнымі лініямі ў спектры, рухомы вакол NGC 259 у кірунку, што супадае з кручэннем дыска апошняй. Галактыкі знаходзяцца на адлегласці 376 кпк[1].
