1893/1894 het s Archidekturbüro Vischer&Fueter für e Brofässer Jacob Wackernagel d Villa an der Gartenstrooss 93 baut. Dr Eduard Vischer-Sarasin und Eduard Fueter-Gelzer häi sich 1872 zun ere Soziedäät zämmedoo und an dr Gardestrooss meereri Hüüser baut. Vo dene si hüte nume no dr Ulmehoof und d Nummere 78 übrig.

S Wackernagels häi mit ere 13jöörige Pause vo 1894 aa im Ulmehoof gläbt. Dr Brofässer isch 1938 gstorbe, si Frau zwäi Joor spööter, und s Huus isch denn bis 1942 leer gstande, wo s d Firma Ruhr- und Saarkohle kauft und s Hinderhuus baut het. Es isch bis in d 1990er Firmesitz bliibe.[2]

Beschriibig

S Geböid isch e groossbürgerligs Stadtbalä im Stiil vom Neobarock, wie z Baasel am Ändi vom 19. Joorhundert nid wenig baut worde si, uf ere 2000 Kwadratmeter groosse Barzälle mit eme Hinderhuus und ere Garteaalaag. Es het zwäi Stöck und 21 Zimmer und uf em Dach Mansarde.[3] Dr Naame Ulmehoof isch vo dr hooche Ulme cho, wo im Garte hinder em Huus gwaggse isch.[4]
