Im Oktober 2011 isch er füre Kanton Bäärn i Nationalroot gwäält worde, 2015 und au bi de Wahle 2019 und 2023 het me ne z Bäärn wider gwäält. Er isch bi dr SP.

Dr Matthias Aebischer läbt i dr Stadt Bäärn und isch mit dr Zürcher Nazionalröötin Tiana Angelina Moser vo dr GLP zäme.
