Sidat muara [3] ( Anguilla bengalensis ), adalah hewan demersal, katadromous [4] sidat dalam keluarga Anguillidae. Hal ini dijelaskan oleh John McClelland pada tahun 1844.[5] Ini adalah sidat air tawar tropis yang dikenal dari Afrika Timur, Bangladesh, Kepulauan Andaman, Mozambik, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, dan Indonesia dan baru-baru ini dari Madagaskar .[6] Sidat ini menghabiskan sebagian besar hidupnya di air tawar pada kedalaman 3–10 meter, tetapi bermigrasi ke Samudera Hindia untuk berkembang biak. Jantan dapat mencapai panjang total maksimal 121 sentimeter dan berat maksimal 7.000 gram.[7] Makanan utama sidat ini adalah krustasea bentik, moluska, ikan bersirip, dan cacing .[8]
