Ptilothrix deusta adalah teki-tekian dalam keluarga Cyperaceae yang ditemukan di tenggara Australia. Spesies ini merupakan satu-satunya spesies dalam genus Ptilothrix.[1] Tumbuhan ini umumnya terlihat di tanah berpasir yang basah di kawasan semak (heathland), tumbuh setinggi 30 hingga 60 cm.[2] Ini adalah salah satu dari banyak spesies tumbuhan yang pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh Robert Brown dengan tipe yang dikenal sebagai "(J.) v.v." yang muncul dalam karyanya Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae et Insulae Van Diemen pada tahun 1810 sebagai Carpha deusta.[3][4] Pada tahun 1994, Karen Wilson memindahkan spesies ini ke dalam genus Ptilothrix.[3][5] Nama genus ini berasal dari bahasa Yunani Kuno, yang berarti rambut bulu. Epitet spesifik deusta berasal dari bahasa Latin yang berarti terbakar.[6]
